Vicon ON ANIMAL PLANET'S - EMERGENCY VETS

The Discovery Channel’s Animal Planet: Emergency Vets, recently highlighted new technologies being used in veterinary clinics to aid in the recover of sick and injured pets.

Emergency Vets is filmed exclusively at the renowned Alameda East Veterinary Hospital in Denver, Colorado where Doctors work 24 hours a day 365 days a year to help our beloved pets.

Earlier this year Animal Planet® and Vicon Motus® Customer, Alameda East Veterinary Hospital filmed a feature focusing on canine gait at our Colorado office. Dr. Bob Taylor, with help from the Vicon team conducted pre- and post-surgery gait trials of Nero, a large chocolate lab with severe knee problems.

Using the Vicon Motus 3D Optical Capture system in conjunction with two force plates and Sharon software®, Doctors we’re able to quickly asses Nero rehabilitation progress. Alameda East’s new facility features a state-of-the-art biomechanics lab for designed specifically for digitally evaluating lameness and conducting 3D kinematic gait analysis. Combining Vicon optical capture products with orthopaedic and neurological rehabilitation, in-ground therapy/lap pools, underwater and land treadmills, as well as an outstanding team of caring veterinarians has created a one of a kind facility to keep our pets happy and healthy.
