Vicon BodyBuilder

Vicon BodyBuilder is world’s first software package designed specifically to make the implementation of biomechanical models quick and easy. Combining the powerful scripting language BodyLanguage and a powerful user interface, BodyBuilder is currently in use at over 300 sites world wide.

BUILD MODELS EASILY
Vicon recognized, before any competitors, that although designing a biomechanical model is often difficult, implementing the models need not be. Therefore, BodyLanguage was designed as a scripting language that includes full support for advanced concepts such as segments, vectors, angles, moments and powers. Calculations are based on standard operators, allowing you to, for example, define a complete segment or to calculate joint moments, in one simple operation – all the complex mathematics is done in the background.

BODYLANGUAGE - FLEXIBLE. POWERFUL.
The fact that it is easy to implement biomechanical models in BodyLanguage doesn’t mean that the language lacks flexibility. BodyLanguage includes support for advanced concepts such as macros, conditional statements as well as a large range of built-in mathematical functions and operations. Thus, for the vast majority of biomechanical modeling problems, BodyBuilder will give you the solution.

EXTENSIVE LIBRARY OF EXISTING MODELS
BodyBuilder has a very extensive world-wide user base, and hundreds of models have been developed at individual sites. Thus, a thriving BodyBuilder user community already exists, to the mutual benefit of all users as they exchange ideas, experiences and models. Thus, if you require a specific model for a specific task, chances are that other users have done something similar already and instead of starting from scratch you can simply edit an existing model to suit your needs.

AUTOMATIC ROUTINE PROCESSING
In addition to the BodyBuilder package for developing and testing model and processing data, a plug-in that allows the finished model to be incorporated into the automatic Vicon Nexus pipeline is supplied with every license. This allows you to take your customized BodyLanguage model and process data seamlessly, fully integrated with your data capture process. Unlike other modelling solutions, this means that the model processing happens in the background and that the operator will not have to leave the data measurement and processing software environment to get the job done.

REAL-TIME ADJUSTMENT OF MODEL PARAMETERS
When you are developing a biomechanical model, the input parameters often have to be adjusted in order to arrive at the best solution. BodyBuilder allows all input parameters to be changed and results to be observed in real time – as opposed to having to process the entire model before viewing the results. This is a great time and frustration saver that allows you to concentrate on the science instead of having the workflow broken up by constant re-processing.
