Vicon Polygon
Vicon Polygon is the world’s only software package specifically designed to make it easy to generate interactive multimedia reports. Now in its 3rd major version, Polygon has been used at hundreds of sites to generate thousands of clinical, sports, ergonomic and other types of reports.
ALL THE DATA VISUALIZED IN ONE APPLICATION
Polygon allows you to import all the common data generated by a motion measurement session as well as other reference data such as text files, data tables, AVI files, pictures and even web pages. The data is visualized and fully synchronized in appropriate panes in Polygon’s user interface and this allows different data to be analyzed concurrently, greatly enhancing the analysis process.
INTERACTIVE HYPERLINKS MAKES NAVIGATION EASY
Just like hyperlinks are used in web pages to guide the reader to information, Polygon uses hyperlinks to link textual and data visualization. The author of a report, when exploring a particular aspect of the measured data, can save the layout using a hyperlink which, when clicked, will reproduce exactly the same layout. This allows the author to write a report that guides the reader through the analysis and lets the reader visualize data as and when it is necessary.
TEMPLATES MAKE REPORT GENERATION FAST
Polygon allows any report to be saved as a template, which means that exactly the same report can be generated in seconds based on a different data set. Thus, if a new patient comes through the motion laboratory or if a new performer is analyzed in the sports center, you will not have to start the new report from scratch – instead, select the template, import the recently acquired data and you’ll have the finished report ready to be reviewed long before the subject leaves.
POLYGON IS IDEAL FOR PRESENTATIONS
The interactive, hyperlink-based Polygon reports are ideal for presenting data – whether it is for a conference, a referring physician, a college audience or maybe just for an internal analysis session. Polygon can be set up to produce projector-friendly slides, supplementing or replacing the need to use Microsoft PowerPoint. This means that instead of spending time and effort transferring motion data to PowerPoint, you can use Polygon straight away to give an interactive presentation.
EXTENSIVE TOOLS FOR EXPORTING DATA AND REPORTS
Polygon integrates with two of the most common Microsoft Office products – Word and Excel – to allow data and even a complete report to be exported for further analysis, editing, archiving or printing. What’s more, if you would like to export the report and preserve all the interactive features, you can also export the complete electronic report and freely distribute it with the freeware Polygon Viewer, which runs on any Windows PC and does not have to be installed.
COMPARING DATA IS EASY
Whether you’d like to compare pre-operative data with post-operative, a pathological patient with a normal subject or an expert athlete with an improving one, Polygon offers functionality to compare any amount of data from any number of subjects using the built-in graph, video and 3D views. If that’s not enough you can also synchronize the different data sets to each other so that the 3D representations and graphs can be overlaid, allowing you a see exactly what the differences are.
MUSCLE MODELING
Polygon has built-in interface for setting up muscle models based on easy to use graphical components and high-quality 3D feedback. This enables you to specify any number of muscles that can wrap around any number of wrapping objects – and these objects can be points, spheres, cylinders or ellipsoids. Unlike competitors’ muscle modeling packages, you will be able to use Polygon’s graphing and reporting capabilities straight away, removing the need to export the data and import into another application. Not only that, but if you make changes to the actual muscle model, Polygon will process the model on-the-fly and display the results immediately.
REAL TIME FEEDBACK
Polygon is the world’s most advanced tool for biofeedback visualization in real time. Polygon enables you to display data both graphically and in 3D. For example, you can display the results of a biomechanical model that is being processed in real time and immediately view joint angles or the 3D segments. In addition, Polygon can normalize the graphical data for repetitive movements so that the current movement cycle can be overlaid with historical data. This is a great training tool since you can suggest actual changes in the subject’s movement patterns and immediately view the results.
