Nexus, the keystone of the Vicon Life Sciences Suite of software, is your tool for collecting motion capture data. This course series assumes you have watched the Essentials of Nexus training videos and understand the basics of motion capture. The first session will review the workflow for collecting motion capture data in Nexus. Sessions 2-3 cover the Vicon Plug-In Gait model and the final session covers the uses of the Vicon Analysis Toolkit advanced plug-in operations.
Session 1 - A Review of the Nexus Processing Workflow

This session assumes that your system has already been setup and optimized. It covers a review of the motion capture collection process in the Nexus software using the Plug-In Gait model as an example.

Session 2 - Plug-In Gait: Segment Definitions and Results Interpretation

Session 3 – Plug-In gait: Advanced Topics

Session 3 covers alternate marker sets that can be used in Plug-In Gait, including the use of Knee
Alignment Devices (KAD). Also covered are techniques for editing the Plug-In Gait marker set.

Session 4 – Analysis Tool Kit

The Analysis Toolkit is a set of advanced pipeline options that can be purchased as a package to use in the Nexus pipeline. Session 7 will cover how to implement and customize these additional pipeline operations.

1. Event Correlator - Capture and correlate your own events in any trial.
2. Event Generator - Calculate explicit events from variable thresholds and other events.
3. Parameter Calculator - Extract novel parameters from your trials and studies.
4. Butterworth Filter - Standard-based smoothing - now with reduced end-effects.
5. Ascii Import - Imports text based data from external systems.
6. Application Linker - Run external programs from within the Workstation Pipeline.
7. Pelvis Angle Converter - Converts Pelvis Progression angles from YXZ to ZXY decomposition, giving an improved clinical representation.
