Session 1 - Introduction to Polygon

Session 2 – The Graph Pane

Session 3 – The Workspace and Media Panes

Session 4 - Advanced Templates, Presentations and EMG

Session 5 - Advanced Templates, Presentations and EMG

Session 6 - Muscles, Scripts and Exporting

Session 1 - Introduction to Polygon

WHEN

TBD

WHAT

Learn the basics of what you can do in a Polygon report and how to get started creating your own report in this first session.

OBJECTIVES

1.Create A Report

2.Create Text Panes In A Report

3.Creating Hyperlinks In Your Report

4.Creating Links To Other Reports

5.Different Shortcuts Available

6.Exporting A Report

Session 2 – The Graph Pane

WHEN

TBD

WHAT

Learn how to visualize the data in your motion capture trial as graphs in your Polygon report.  Then, learn to edit your graphs to customize the look of your report.

OBJECTIVES

1. Adding Graph Panes – Add graphs to your Report

2. View Options – Individual views, thumbnail views, overlaying graphs, multiple graph panes, deleting

    panes, and re-positioning.

3. Graph Ranges – Changing the Axis range

4. Normalization – View a graph normalized either to gait cycle or to percentage of trial

5. Editing Traces – Display options for data

Session 3 – The Workspace and Media Panes

WHEN

TBD

WHAT

Lean how to create a 3D workspace to visualize a stick figure of your subject synchronized with your graphs.  We can then customize the 3D workspace to make the subject appear as a skeleton or other displays.  Finally, we can import movies and pictured to synchronize with our report to add another layer of visualization.

OBJECTIVES

1. Open a 3D workspace

2. Display a figure with modeled segments

3. Apply a mesh to segments

4. Use Features located on the right click menus

5. Integrate .MPG and .AVI files

6. Integrate web pages

Session 4 - Advanced Templates, Presentations and EMG

WHEN

TBD

WHAT

Learn to average data from multiple trials and add that averaged data to a Polygon report. Then compare individual subjects to the average. Finally, we have learned all of the elements that make up a basic Polygon report. It is time to lean how to save this report as a template used to automatically generate reports for future subjects.

OBJECTIVE

1. Creating Average Data - Create Average Data from Processed Data

2. Accessing Average Data - Add saved Average Data to other reports.

3. Creating a Polygon Report Template - Create a template (.TPL) from a complete report.

4. Accessing a Polygon Report Template - Set up a report based off of a saved template (.TPL) file.

Session 5 - Advanced Templates, Presentations and EMG

WHEN

TBD

WHAT

Learn to create running averages of data trials and templates where every new subject is compared automatically to an averaged data set. Next, we will cover how to run Polygon in Presentation Mode ( i.e. a Power Point presentation but with all of the features of Polygon available.) Finally we will cover how to graph EMG data.

OBJECTIVE

1. Temporal Parameters - Adding Temporal Parameters to the Text Pane.

2. Automated Text - Using Temportal Parameters in a Template.

3. Creating an Average Template - Using an Average Data Node to create a Template Report where new    data is always compared to the average.

4. Creating a Running Average - Building onto an Average Data Node as you add more subjects to your Normal Data Set.

5. Presentation Mode - Run Polygon as a series of slides

6. Advanced Graphs - Graphing EMG Data

Session 6 - Muscles, Scripts and Exporting

WHEN

TBD

WHAT

Learn to add Muscle Visualization to your 3D workspace figure and view the activation of muscles based on EMG Data. Next we will learn to create shortcuts to common view types using script buttons. Finally, we will cover the various ways you can export and share your report.

OBJECTIVES

1. Muscle / Wrap Objects

    a. Adding muscles to the workspace

    b. Changing Muscle Properties

2. Script Buttons - Running Script Buttons as Dynamic Hyperlinks.

3. Exporting to Polygon Viewer, Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word.
