    AMTI Treadmill Gait Cycle Events

    Script Name: detectEventsFromAMTITreadmill

    Language: Matlab, Python (3.9)

    Summary:

This file is supplied to illustrate the normal operation of the Nexus to Python/Matlab interface.

Oxford Metrics and Vicon Motion Systems accept no responsibility for its

    correct operation.

There must be a subject in the session folder, and the front and

back AMTI treadmill plates must be uniquely named in the system file. The names must

start with a letter and not contain spaces.

This code will use the Fz channel of each plate to determine the gait

cycle events on an AMTI front/back treadmill. This code can be run from

Nexus or from Matlab or Python, however, all inputs will be generated from Matlab or Python.

    These inputs are:

    – the subject name which will be associated with the gait cycle events

    – the name of the front plate

    – the name of the back plate

    – whether or not to clear existing events

    – the desired force threshold

    – which foot is the first to cleanly strike the first plate.

If running in Python, there will be dropdown menu’s or entry boxes.

The plates have to be named properly such that the foot strikes occur on

the front plate and the foot offs occur on the back plate.

The gait cycle events will be written back to Nexus. The gait cycle

events, especially the foot offs may be underestimated, so it is always

    worth checking your data.

At present, this has been tested for walking.
