We had an incredible time in Madison at the American Society of Biomechanics (ASB) 2024 conference earlier this month. As a sponsor and exhibitor, Vicon is proud of our continued involvement in this event. Please read on for a summary of our activities throughout the week!
ASB Community Events
Vicon is proud to sponsor several community events at ASB, each offering unique opportunities to engage with the biomechanics community. We’ve linked the organizations below, please take a moment to give them a follow!
- International Women in Biomechanics Social: On August 5th, we joined the International Women in Biomechanics Social at the Great Dane Pub Downtown Madison. The event was a wonderful celebration of the contributions of women in biomechanics, providing a platform for networking and mentorship.
- Early Career Mixer: The Early Career Mixer on August 6th at The Coopers Tavern was another highlight. This event was designed to connect early career and post-doc biomechanists, fostering connections that will support the next generation of biomechanists.
- ASB2024 Trainee Round Table: On August 8th, we participated in the ASB2024 Trainee Round Table, where we engaged in a compelling discussion on “Bridging the Gap Between Academia and Industry”. We enjoyed participating in this conversation around the challenges and opportunities at the intersection of academic research and practical industry applications.
User Group Meeting
On Tuesday evening, we hosted a Vicon User Group Meeting. This was a fantastic opportunity for us to connect directly with our valued users, discuss recent advancements, and gather your input on how you would like to see Vicon’s solutions continue to evolve to meet the needs of the biomechanics community. Thank you to all who joined us!
Research Posters Using Vicon
We loved seeing so many interesting research projects utilizing Vicon motion capture displayed at ASB. Check out a few of our favorites, and the entire abstract book here.
