OXFORD, UK — 29 Sept. 2026 — Vicon, the premier global provider of motion capture technology for sports teams, hospitals and universities, today announced the launch of Nexus Markerless for life sciences. Nexus Markerless enables researchers, educators and sports performance professionals to capture marker-based and markerless motion data simultaneously within one integrated ecosystem.
Built for users who need to gather data with greater speed and efficiency, Nexus Markerless combines optical and markerless capture, force plate integration and object tracking in a unified workflow. Researchers and medical professionals can compare and validate marker-based and markerless outputs directly with real-time visualization that enables data quality checks during capture – rather than after a session has concluded.
“By bringing marker-based and markerless capture together in a single ecosystem, we’re helping users increase throughput, simplify workflows and maintain greater confidence in their data,” said Andrew Knox, Managing Director at Vicon. “Users can now verify data quality as it is being captured, which reduces post-processing time and increases confidence in results before the subject has even left the lab.”
The launch builds on Vicon’s Markerless launch for the entertainment sector in 2025. Developed over several years with meticulous attention to detail, Vicon Markerless set a new standard for motion capture across games, film, episodic TV and immersive experiences.
By bringing its markerless capabilities to life sciences, Vicon continues to expand access to its advanced motion capture technologies that help organizations accelerate research, improve efficiency and gain new insights into human movement.
Fast, Tailored, Shareable Reporting
Within Nexus Markerless, Vicon also debuted Nexus Reports, a customizable reporting solution designed for clinical gait laboratories, researchers and physiotherapy teams. Nexus Reports turns complex biomechanical data into shareable reports through automated templates and simple report-building tools that can be used by operators of any skill level.
“For our lab, one of the main strengths of Nexus Reports is that it makes motion analysis reporting more accessible to the whole team, including colleagues without programming expertise,” said Peppino Tropea, Head of Motion Lab Bioengineer and Head of the Movement Analysis Laboratory at CantoniLab, an outpatient healthcare and clinical facility in Milan. “I think the main reason this is important for us is that reporting should not depend on one person with specific programming or technical skills. Having a tool that can be used independently by different members of the team makes the workflow more scalable and helps us produce reports in a more consistent and standardized way.”
“Nexus Reports makes it super simple to look at body segments from multiple trials at the same time,” said Tim McGrath, PhD, Director Clinical & Research at Pitch Ready, a research-led sports biomechanics company supporting elite teams, clinicians, labs and athletes. “No coding is required and the solution offers customizable templates for re-use complete with descriptive statistics. It’s very user friendly.”
